Jackie's
Approach to Counseling In Her Own Words
"My
approach to counseling is rooted in my belief in the authority
of Scripture, the sovereignty of God, the virgin birth of Jesus,
His death, burial and resurrection, the presence of the Holy
Spirit and the work of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s life.
My philosophy of counseling is based on Proverbs 23.7 'For as
man thinks in his heart, so is he.' Our belief system
influences our choices and our choices can set or change the
course in our lives.
I
believe in praying for and with clients. Helping clients
identify thinking patterns that may be contributing to their
problem. I embrace psychological principles that do not
contradict the Word of God. And I believe we are each
accountable to God and responsible for our actions. Romans 14.12
“ …each of us shall give an account of himself to God. In
clinical terms, I’m considered a cognitive behaviorist".
